1 post st, at montgomery and market, down the stairs at 1 post plaza.
motivation: informational interview and general catching up with eddie big boots (playa name) who has a new job at SFMOMA in corporate development. we grabbed some quick take-out sushi and went to sit in yerba buena gardens on a gorgeous indian summer day.
the quality was take-out supreme, meaning they made everything fresh in their kitchen right there, and were confident enough to package sashimi too. i had some nigiri and maki rolls, along with a seaweed salad and edamame. eddie had a bento box. they were all just fine for a quick lunch, if not good.
price: perfect for a regular downtown san francisco lunch. it's even better if you're fully employed, which i'm not, so eddie was extremely generous and bought my lunch. if i worked in the area, i would hit this place at least once a week. in fact, i've already brought another friend by since it's right next to montgomery BART and has a nice little seating area next to a flower shop.
flirtability: the spot itself is good for glancing at cutie office workers on their lunch breaks. yerba buena gardens in october is even better if you're gay. we were surrounded by good-looking and well dressed men, and possibly good-looking-but-hard-to-tell-under-the-beard-and-grime-because-they-were-homeless-men. oh, and a lot of birds, with whom i do not flirt during informational interviews. if you decide to do something similar, be sure to bring a mat to sit on in the damp grass.
itadakimasu!
